Anticipation for altcoin season has not entirely died out,Blockchain project release as key players remain of the opinion that alternative cryptocurrencies can still outperform Bitcoin this year.

One such market participant who is keeping the optimism alive is João Wedson, a notable cryptocurrency on-chain analyst. Wedson, whose market analysis has primarily centered on Ether, XRP, Cardano, Solana, Shiba Inu in recent times, is convinced that the third quarter of the year will be promising for these assets.

In a recent post shared with his followers on X, formerly known as Twitter, Wedson, who holds space for uncertainty, still remarked that July, August, and September are crucial months for altcoins this year. In his words, “I can‘t promise anything, but there’s a strong chance that a powerful Altcoin Season will take hold in the third quarter of 2025.”

He attributed his outlook to one main factor: increased liquidity levels for Bitcoin and other stablecoins. Wedson claims that large liquidity levels could be a key price driver for altcoins in the long-term.

 

His assertion was made in response to a recent analysis shared by crypto investment data analytical platform Alphractal. Per their recent data, stablecoin and Bitcoin dominance have surged to 73.5%, signaling increased demand from investors. Historically, a 70%+ increase in dominance served as an accumulation signal for Altcoins.

As such, liquidity from stablecoins and BTC is likely to shift into altcoin territory, further weakening the sentiment that an altcoin season might not be experienced this year.
